Transformers 3 Trailer
So the first two movies were amazing! Normally films fail at a sequel but i think they did a good job! Hope they dont mess up the third! One of my most looked forward too movies of this year!
I think the transformer in this trailer (the one they find on the moon) is an autobot not a decepticon.

Reverb Time
So this is what im currently doing at college and thought it could be useful!
There is a formula for calulating the RT60 of a room. RT (reverberation time) 60 is the time taken for a particular frequency to drop by 60db.
but you need to know the absorbtion coeffitients of your materials.
Click for link to coefficients
Other coefficients can be found via google
the number headed at the top of the image (125,250,500,1000,2000,4000) are Frequencies.
The formula is
RT60 = 0.05 X V
---------
ST X Aave
V=Volume of room in Feet3
ST = Total surface area of room in Feet3
Aave= Average absorption coefficients in a room for a particular frequency

New Macbook Pro!
So apple how now released the new MBP!
Quad Core, Facetime HD (HD iSight camera), MD Radeon HD graphics processors with up to 1GB of video memory etc etc, but the thing that has caught my eye is the new "Thunderbolt I/O"
I can see this improving ALOT of products but also making them more expensive? maybe? up to 10 GB per second and its made so you can plug any device into it (display or peripherals) as opposed to firewire 800 which is (as the name suggests) 800mbps.
Running snow leapord as ever, (until Lion later this year) I'm guessing its going to be one of the best products for aple this year (apart from the iPad 2)

Ok, so you've all seen those Terminator Movies right? (If not buy below!)
I randomly thought I would create a "Terminator" starting bios, and... here it is.

Kick Drum Technique (One of them anyway....)
Ok, so there are many MANY ways to record... well anything!
The past couple of weeks however I've been trying out a few mics and have come up with an interesting combination.
Sennheiser Evo 602 and the (all famous) AKG D112.
The 602 is a great mic for that low end thump of the kick. Make sure your drum is padded well, and put the 602 in the centre. Inside the padding or out (play around with it)
The D112 is a great well known kick drum mic. However i found that "backing it up" with the 602 was a great move (especially after compression, EQ etc)
Place the D112 more to the outside of the kick, right on the edge, just slightly inside. maybe even have it pointing slightly at the shell of the drum, this will be great for the attack.
Here are some "crude" images for you to see what waffling on about!

Shure Super 55 deluxe
So I came accross this mic in a review the other day, and it just looks amazing. The build quality is (apparantly) second to none.
First off, some pics? (Not sure which one I prefer!)
